Robert Battle has been artistic director of the Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater since 2011. His creative work is characterized by a dynamic energy coupled with a wonderful sense of form and inspired musicality. The clip below is from a master class that he taught at the School of Jacob’s Pillow in July of 2004. I had a wonderful time playing for him.

This is an excerpt from a piece that I did in collaboration with Mitlon Myers for Philadanco’s 35th anniversary concert at the Kimmel Center in Philadelphia. The music was composed and produced in my studio. The ballet was called A Bit of Kinship and Exoticism.
